Brendon Ford
Principal Physiotherapist
Brendon has been practicing since 2010 after graduating from Sydney University with a Master of Physiotherapy and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sports Science). Brendon has been a clinical educator for Sydney University physiotherapy students since 2011.
Brendon returned to university in 2013 and conducted research in the Sydney University Shoulder Lab under Professor Karen Ginn for four years, resulting in two publications and a Master of Philosophy (Medicine).
Following completion of his research degree, Brendon was involved in a back pain trial that involved treating patients that had not responded to previous physiotherapy or surgery as part of research into the effectiveness of cognitive functional training. This involved extensive training under Professor Peter O’Sullivan and Doctor JP Caneiro in treating not only back pain but also more complex chronic pain presentations.
Brendon commenced a combined Master of Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy/Master of High Performance Sport at ACU in 2020 to continue to enhance his skillset in managing elite athletes and sport specific injuries. Brendon has also completed multiple APA and post-graduate courses on hip, groin, shoulder, hand and elbow pain over the past 12 years.
Brendon is currently the physiotherapist for the Cronulla Sharks Harvey Norman and Tarsha Gale Women’s rugby league teams and has also previously worked with Illawarra Steelers Country Rugby League, Sydney Olympic Football Club and Drummoyne Dirty Reds Rugby Union. Brendon also works closely with Sports Physicians and a Sports Pediatrician in managing athletes and the general population as part of a multidisciplinary team.
